Product Details
Mainly used in the inorganic industry, it is a basic raw material for manufacturing various potassium salts such as potassium hydroxide, potassium sulfate, potassium nitrate, potassium chlorate, and potassium bichromate. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used as a diuretic and a medication for preventing and treating potassium deficiency. In the dye industry, it is used to produce G salt, reactive dyes, etc. In agriculture, it serves as a potash fertilizer. It has a fast fertilizing effect and, when applied directly to farmland, can raise soil moisture from lower layers, providing drought resistance. However, it is not suitable for use on saline-alkali soils or for crops such as tobacco, sweet potatoes, and sugar beets. In addition, it is used in the manufacture of muzzle flash suppressants for firearms or artillery, heat treatment agents for steel, and in photography. [1] In the food industry, it can be used as a salt substitute in agricultural, aquatic, and livestock products, fermentation, seasoning, canned food, convenience foods, etc., to produce low-sodium products and reduce the adverse effects of excessive sodium intake on the body. It is also used to fortify potassium (for human electrolytes) and in the formulation of sports drinks. According to Chinese regulations, the maximum usage level is 350g/kg in low-sodium salt, 60g/kg in low-sodium salt soy sauce, and 0.2g/kg in sports drinks.
