At Gaopeng, making mooncakes in-house for Mid-Autumn Festival has long been a tradition. As the festival approaches every year, everyone looks forward to tasting these mooncakes, which are quite different from anything store-bought.

September 12 was the last working day before the Mid-Autumn holiday. Early in the morning, the cafeteria staff had already begun preparing the ingredients for mooncakes, filling the entire canteen with a rich, sweet milky aroma.

Your editor couldn't resist going over to capture the birth of each adorable snow-skin mooncake. Let me show you how it came together!

The rich milky fragrance — this is the star ingredient!

By this point, the dough was already cooked, releasing an enticing aroma, waiting to be filled. Once refrigerated, the skin becomes wonderfully soft and chewy.

This time, the staff prepared two kinds of fillings: red bean paste and lychee. Since all the ingredients were made fresh that day, the sweet, not-cloying fragrance was enough to whet anyone's appetite. After wrapping the filling, the mooncakes were pressed with a patterned mold — and just like that, a snow-skin mooncake was complete!

Finally, they were boxed and placed in the refrigerator.

Done! All that was left to do was wait for the delicious treat.

In the hearts of all Gaopeng people, no matter how many various mooncakes are available in stores, or how many are gifted by relatives and friends, the homemade ones at Gaopeng every Mid-Autumn hold an irreplaceable place. On the last day before the holiday, everyone gathered and laughed together — more like family than colleagues!

The bright moon hangs in the sky, and cool breezes come from all directions. The seasons pass quietly, and the year mirrors the moon's glow. On this happy Mid-Autumn day of reunion, we raise our cups to the moon and look down with joy. Blessings ride the wind, and good fortune arrives with the moonlight.

Wishing everyone a happy Mid-Autumn reunion and family happiness!
